In my About, I suggest that my photography confronted my productivity and usefulness and I invited the reader to also share in moments of awe and wonder that arise from seeing lines, patterns, shapes and colours that without much consideration, regularly inform our environments. So the question that must be asked is, how are you and me confronted by the power of a voiceless object inviting us to consider its ability to exist for its own sake?
I am thoughtfully reminded that viewing something that is inanimate has the power to confront productivity and usefulness by encouraging reflection. This act of reflection can be a valuable tool for personal growth so that we can gain insights into our own lives and the world around us. Flowers, for example, can prompt us to consider what emotions that it evokes and why one may invite us to smile but yet another compel us towards grief. Yet in another example, the way a shadow being cast by the rising sun unexpectedly raises memories of a past event, or the morning light reawakens a sense of hope and new beginnings, these seemingly small elements of our everyday lives hold the power to evoke strong emotions and trigger memories worth unfolding to recognize their significance. Flowers, with their vibrant colors and delicate petals, have the ability to uplift our spirits and bring joy. The way a shadow falls on a building can transport us back in time, reminding us of a significant occasion or a person. The morning light, with its soft glow, symbolizes the start of a new day and fills us with optimism. It is fascinating how such simple things can have such profound effects on our emotions and thoughts, reminding us of the beauty and complexity of the world we live in.
This process of introspection can lead to increased self-awareness and a deeper understanding of ourselves and our goals. Ultimately, inviting you to take moments in time can serve as a reminder to slow down, appreciate the present moment, and make intentional choices that align with values and aspirations. As is becoming more impressed over time, my ability to be fully present to a task or a person, is in no other way able to inform the future more hopefully than otherwise seems more likely to feed off of past or current distractions that belittle current opportunities that exist right now!
In my website, I aim to encourage you to pause and appreciate the existence of usually voiceless objects. By inviting you to take these moments in time, I hope to remind you to slow down and make intentional choices that align with your values and goals. Over time, I have become increasingly amazed by my ability to thus become more fully engaged in present relationships and this allows me to bring my whole self into these experiences to build the future based on both illuminated but uncomplicated motives.
